June 6 Mt. Rushmore, Crazy Horse and buffalos

It was a great day today. Didn’t have to drive or look at a map to get where we wanted. The title says it all and it was very enjoyable. Met several traveling folks who were doing pretty much what we are doing, seeing the USA while we can still enjoy it. We took a tour bus to the sites and had a good driver / guide who filled us in on all sorts of facts and interesting commentary. In addition to the above we saw antelope who didn’t seem to be playing, Gold mines that have been either abandoned or now tourist stops, treacherous roads through the Custer State Park, an 1880’s train ride through from Keystone SD to Hill City SD gaining 600 ft. elevation. Back to the motel for another night and then off to Devil's Tower and Wyoming.
